There are 3 simple tips that can help you remember what you've just read quickly.
1. Make Impression
When you're impressed by something, you will remem
ber it quickly and very long. For example, when you was a child, if you got lost in a supermarket, you would remember the supermarket immediately.
This is similar with book. If you are impressed by an action of a character in a story, you will remember it very long.
An other way is that you just need to imagine an image of the story in your mind and adding with some interesting factors or something that can sock you. The more it shocks you, longer you remember.
2. Make Connection
Making the connection with the things that you've known already. That would increase your retention ability.
For example, The date of birth of the author is the same as the date of birth of your parents or your friend.
If you can make more connections, you will able to remember longer and you can easily find the information in your head basing on the connections.
3. Repetition
Do you recognise that when you sing a song, you usually sing the chorus? Because they are repeated again and again many times in the song.
To apply on reading book, you should mark or underline details that you care about the most in the book. When you read the book again, you should only concentrate on that details, no need to read all the book. When you read it again, try to make impression and connection. I'm sure you will accumulate more precious knowledge for yourself.
